Gustard unveils with its DAC-R26 an absolutely exceptional digital to analog converter. Discrete R2R

The R2R DAC used in the Gustard DAC-R26 relies on high precision resistor switching to perform the digital to analog conversion. Compared to a Delta-Sigma DAC, the R2R offers a more pure and natural sound. A more expensive and demanding design, but one that offers incomparable performance.

While the DAC is excellent, the remote is not crafted well. Please provide an option to purchase a remote with a better appearance.

There is no need to mention the exceptional support provided by Aoshida, the seller. I have owned numerous high/quality DACs, some of which were exotic, over the past two decades, such as Weiss 502, Bel Canto 3.7 VB, Mytek Manhattan, Auralic Vega, OKTO Research DAC 8 Stereo, etc. The Gustard R26 made me smile upon first listen. This is even after reading that it will enhance significantly from the numerous posted reviews. The tone and timbre are very natural. The guitar strings produce a shimmering sound. The bass is slightly loose, but it should tighten up as the unit is broken in. The spatial aspects are excellent. The soundstage is wide with a natural sense of height. The depth is more apparent compared to the OKTO Research DAC 8 which I was using earlier. The retrieval of details is beyond criticism. This statement does not require any improvement since it is already clear and concise. Initially, I disagreed with Sandu's on/line review comments regarding how the details just pop out. However, I now agree with Sandu. I cannot justify spending more than the cost of this Gustard. Additionally, I own the X26 Pro which is also an outstanding performer. It seems that something significant is happening at Gustard. The current products from Gustard are remarkable performers. This exquisitely crafted item is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.

It sounds great it has a thread less search for details and dynamics than the a26 in return it sounds more nature and sometimes surprises you and much deeper and wider and the midrange is not forward like its delta sigma . I have to complain that they need to check the products better I got it used and it has two scrapes that were not pointed out to me I feel sorry for aoshida.Choose either the r2r ladder or the gustard DS I have testa ti both and they are wonderful products the first looks like an oled the second a mini led LCD.This is my opinion.
